Hotel Levi Panorama: Fell-Top Rooms, Sky Suites, Prices and Is It Worth It

Hotel Levi Panorama sits on top of the Levi fell, so you can step into your skis at the door and be on the first lifts of the morning. The gondola links it to the village, which makes the view easy and an evening out in Levi a little less so.

Hotel Levi Panorama: ski-in ski-out rooms on top of the Levi fell
What it is, and where the fell top puts you
Levi is one of Finland’s best-known ski resorts, and Levitunturi is the tunturi (a bare, rounded northern fell) it is built around. Most Levi hotels sit in the village at the bottom. Hotel Levi Panorama sits at the top, with the Express Gondola running between the summit and the village below.
Your skis go on outside the door and the last run of the day ends there. Everything else in the village is a gondola ride down. The ski season at Levi typically opens in the first week of October and runs to early May, and the resort’s own slope and lift information is the place to confirm what is open on your dates.
What it costs
A room for two costs 193€ a night in late November, 301€ in mid-January, 341€ in early December and 411€ in mid-March, breakfast included. Christmas week was 506€, and in the February ski-holiday week the cheapest room still on sale was a Sky Suite at 649€.
| Dates | Rate per night | Cheapest room |
|---|---|---|
| 20 to 23 November 2026 | 193€ | Standard View |
| 5 to 8 December 2026 | 341€ | Superior Family Room |
| 27 to 30 December 2026 | 506€ | |
| 15 to 18 January 2027 | 301€ | Standard View |
| 20 to 23 February 2027 | 649€ | Sky Suite |
| 10 to 13 March 2027 | 411€ | Superior Family Room |
Rates are Booking.com prices per night for two adults, checked at the end of September 2026. Prices are for the 2026-27 season and change annually, so check current rates for your dates.
Suites sit well above those figures: a Deluxe Suite with Sauna was 529€ a night in late November and 636 to 647€ in January and March. Late November and mid-January are where the summit is good value.
The rooms compared
Room sizes here are generous by Finnish hotel standards, which matters when you are drying gear for three people.
| Room type | Size | Sleeps | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Room / Standard View Room | 28.5 m² | up to 3 | The entry rate; the View version faces out |
| Superior Room | 33 m² | up to 3 | Step up in space, not in concept |
| Deluxe Room | 37 to 46.5 m² | up to 3 | Size varies by room |
| Superior Family Room | 52.5 m² | up to 4 | The room for a family of four |
| Deluxe Suite | 65 to 67.5 m² | up to 5 | Also sold as a Deluxe Suite with Sauna |
| Sky Suite | 68 m² | up to 5 | 37 m² room plus a 31 m² glass igloo |
| Sky Deluxe Suite | 93 m² | up to 5 | The largest room in the hotel |
| Levi Chalets apartments | 45 to 65 m² | varies | Two apartment types beside the hotel |
For two people who intend to ski all day and sleep, the Standard View is enough room. For four, the 52.5 m² Superior Family Room is the sensible booking.
The Sky Suite, and what it actually is
The Sky Suite is the hotel’s answer to the glass igloo. It is 68 m² in total: a 37 m² hotel room plus a 31 m² glass igloo attached to it. You get the glass roof, and you also get a proper bathroom, a living space and heating you do not have to think about. It was 649€ a night in the February ski-holiday week.
Dedicated glass-igloo resorts put you in a standalone cabin some distance from anything, which is the point for some people and a nuisance for others. Here the roof is bolted onto a functioning ski hotel with a 24-hour reception and its own restaurant. If you want one aurora night rather than a whole igloo holiday, this is the efficient version of it.
Two caveats. The summit is where the weather lands, so a night of low cloud gives you a glass ceiling full of grey. And if the Sky Suite is the reason for the trip, book it far ahead.
What a night includes
Breakfast is in the room rate. Beyond that, a night includes the scenic sauna, free parking and a reception staffed around the clock.
Eating is handled on site. Restaurant Panorama serves from 17:00 to 21:30 daily, the Panorama Sky Bar is the view-and-a-drink option, and there are two cafés, Café Panorama Laavu and Spiella Café & Restaurant. That is enough to get through a week without going down the hill, though a week of the same dining room is a week of the same dining room.
Getting there
Kittilä airport is about 15 km from Levi. Finavia’s airport pages list what is operating in a given season.
From Levi village to the hotel you take the Express Gondola. If you drive up, parking at the hotel is free. A hire car is useful if you plan on day trips to the surrounding wilderness, and largely pointless if you intend to ski, eat and sleep on the fell.
Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere
It suits skiers who want the first lift and the last run. It suits couples who want the view, and specifically the Sky Suite version of it. It suits families who ski, because the 52.5 m² family room and the door-to-slope arrangement remove the daily gear march.
It does not suit non-skiers. For someone not on the slopes, a fell summit is a viewpoint with a restaurant attached, and every dinner in the village becomes a logistics decision. It also does not suit tight budgets during the ski-holiday weeks, when the cheapest room on sale was 649€ a night.
What to know before you book
The gondola is your lifeline to Levi centre. Check its operating hours against your evening plans, because on a stormy night the gondola timetable decides where you eat.
Weather on the top is harsher than in the valley, so your outer layers need to be genuinely windproof rather than merely warm. The Finnish Meteorological Institute forecast for Kittilä is the one to read the night before, not the generic phone app.
And the suites, both Deluxe and Sky, carry a substantial premium over the standard rooms: worth it if the glass roof or the private sauna is the trip, hard to justify if it is not.

Alternatives in and around Levi
Levi Hotel Spa sits at the foot of the slopes, with a spa and the village restaurants within walking distance. That is the direct trade against Panorama: you swap first lifts for being able to walk to dinner. For a mixed group where not everyone skis, it is usually the better call.
If the glass roof is the whole point, Levin Iglut has full glass-roofed accommodation about 10 km out of the village, and Northern Lights Village Levi offers glass-roof cabins. Both put you further from the slopes and closer to a dark sky. Neither gives you ski-in ski-out.

When to book
Unless skiing is the point of the trip, avoid the Finnish ski-holiday weeks: the February dates were the dearest in the table, at 649€ a night for the cheapest room left. Christmas week was 506€.
Late November is the cheapest skiing on the calendar here, with the season already open and rooms at 193€. Mid-January is the sweet spot for aurora hunting on a normal budget: long darkness, reliable snow and rooms at 301€.
How I researched this
Facts about rooms, restaurants, opening hours and the season come from the hotel’s own site in September 2026. Nightly rates are Booking.com rates as shown on Google Hotels on 30 September 2026 for the dates in the rate table, two adults, cheapest room available. Nobody from Lapland Trip Planner has stayed here; the verdict is a researched comparison, not a review.
Common questions
Is Hotel Levi Panorama really ski-in ski-out?
Yes, and more literally than most places using the phrase. The hotel is on the summit of Levitunturi, so the slopes begin at the door and runs finish there. The trade-off is that the village, with its restaurants and shops, is a gondola ride below.
How much does Hotel Levi Panorama cost per night?
For two adults with breakfast: 193€ a night in late November, 301€ in mid-January, 341€ in early December, 411€ in mid-March and 506€ at Christmas, on booking-platform rates checked at the end of September 2026. In the February ski-holiday week the cheapest room left was a Sky Suite at 649€.
What is the Sky Suite?
A 68 m² suite made up of a 37 m² hotel room plus a 31 m² glass igloo. It is the hotel’s glass-roof option, giving you the aurora ceiling along with a full bathroom and living space. Book it far ahead.
Is it a good choice if you do not ski?
Not really. Without skiing, the summit setting gives you a view and a restaurant while every trip into Levi centre depends on the gondola and the weather. A hotel at the foot of the slopes, within walking distance of the village, is a better fit for non-skiers.
When does the Levi ski season run?
The season typically opens in the first week of October and runs to early May, a longer window than most people expect. Check the resort’s current slope status before booking early-season dates.
Best Booking Resources for Lapland
These are the booking tools I keep coming back to. They consistently offer the best prices, the most relevant options for northern Finland, and actually work well for Lapland-specific searches, which not all platforms do.
- Kiwi.com: The best source for finding flights and airport connections. I have noticed they find flight connections that other search engines miss.
- Booking.com: I almost always use them for booking hotels and apartments (and occasionally flights). They have the best filters and I like the user-friendly interface.
- Hotels.com: The most popular hotel booking platform in many countries, US included.
- Get Your Guide: A massive selection of tours and excursions, including aurora tours, husky rides, reindeer experiences and more!
- EconomyBookings: Want to explore Lapland or chase auroras yourself? They pool together the best offers from car rental operators for your convenience.
- yesim: Need a local SIM for Lapland? A stress-free holiday nowadays (unfortunately) might start from a good connection, so get an eSIM with unlimited or prepaid data.
- Ekta Traveling: Not interested in checking out the Finnish public health care system on your holiday? Didn’t think so 🙂 Good insurance gets that stress out of the way.
